Mains water is the water that comes out of the tap in homes, businesses and public premises. You can find out who supplies your property by entering your postcode on water.org.
Sutton and Surrey East Water and Thames Water handles the supply of mains water. They also ensure the quality of mains water in the borough, depending upon where you live.
If you have questions or complaints about your water supply contact:
You can get information about drinking water from the Drinking Water Inspectorate. They are the national body for ensuring water quality.
We are responsible for ensuring that the quality of water that doesn’t come from the mains meets the standards of the Private Water Supplies Regulations 2009. This applies to water from private wells, springs and bore holes.
